Facility Description
Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory was established in 1972 as a research and development facility. Fermi has one of the most powerful particle accelerators in the world and is used to conduct a variety of high-energy physics programs.
Throughout the course of its operations, the potential for beryllium exposure existed at this site, due to beryllium use, residual contamination, and decontamination activities.
